Privacy Policy

Bequestor is designed to help estate planning firms and their clients organize sensitive legacy information with care. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, how it is used, and how access to that information is handled.

Bequestor is intended to support clarity, trust, and responsible recordkeeping. Information entered into Bequestor should be treated as private planning information and shared only with appropriate people involved in the client’s estate planning process.

Bequestor is a reference tool and should be used alongside, not in place of, formal estate planning documents.

Information Collected

Bequestor may collect account information needed to create and manage user access, including names, email addresses, firm information, and related account details.

Clients may also enter personal legacy information, including descriptions of belongings, photos, item locations, notes, intended beneficiaries, executor information, attorney details, and other instructions they choose to preserve in their record.

How Information Is Used

Information entered into Bequestor is used to operate the service, maintain user accounts, support access to records, and allow clients and firms to use Bequestor as intended.

Bequestor does not sell or rent user information. Information is not used for unrelated marketing purposes or shared with outside parties except as necessary to operate the service, comply with applicable obligations, or support the user’s requested use of the platform.

Firm Access

When a client is invited through an estate planning firm, that firm retains read-only access to the client’s record for reference as part of the planning process.

This access is intended to support the attorney-client relationship and allow the firm to review the client’s organized legacy information without changing the client’s entries.

Client Control and Sharing

Clients control the information they enter and maintain in their Bequestor record. They may update details, add belongings, revise notes, and adjust their wishes over time.

Clients may also choose whether to share their record with others, such as an executor, trusted advisor, or family representative.

Downloaded Records

Bequestor allows users to download or print a read-only version of a legacy record. Once a record is downloaded, printed, emailed, or otherwise shared outside Bequestor, the user is responsible for how that copy is stored, protected, and distributed.

Users should take care when saving or sharing downloaded records because they may contain sensitive personal and family information.

Data Security

Bequestor uses reasonable safeguards intended to protect information stored within the service. However, no website, application, or electronic storage system can guarantee complete security.

Users should avoid entering highly sensitive access credentials, such as passwords, full account numbers, private keys, or other information that could create risk if accessed by someone else.

Information Accuracy

Clients are responsible for keeping their Bequestor record accurate and current. Bequestor provides a structure for organizing information, but does not verify or guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or legal effect of any information entered.

Changes to This Policy

Bequestor may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page.
